Reqs Reduction is a companion web based tool to Lab Reduction. It accesses all .txt files containing log event data and generates a new log event file with all duplicates removed. This allows Lab Reduction to quickly create a requirements accounting report for the entire test collection. In the absence of this filter, Lab Reduction would process several hundred thousand redundant log events and take several hours to execute instead of 30 seconds.
This report also summarizes the tests by examining all the scripts and mining the Y data reduction reports to provide a global status of the test runs. This status includes an indication of the presence of log events, which means the test has been performed, and an indication if a test has passed or failed. This pass fail indication is NOT based on analyzing log events. This pass fail indication is only based on observations gathered during test time and captured as comments in the test scripts. Other information is also extracted based on keyword comments within the scripts. The req's are accounted for each test and a total is generated for the entire test battery. There is also a detail section listing the req's expected in a test, req's encountered in a test, and req's unique to a test and not found in any of the other tests performed to date.
